Digman Hall is a recently renovated co-ed residence hall in Dickinson Community. Digman houses approximately 180 students, 7 Resident Assistants, and 1 full-time Resident Director. Digman's recreational lounge has been converted to more of a coffee house atmosphere known as the Rime Cellar. The Dickinson Town Council sponsors programs in there including open mic nights, bands, and poetry reading. Digman also has a main lounge that is used for programs, activities, and hall meetings. There is also a study lounge and a piano room that is available for students.
Digman hall offers a variety of living style options. The complete East wing of Digman Hall is smoke-free. Students must sign an agreement to live there. On the North side the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) special interest housing program is housed on the 2nd floor. VPA works on a variety of programs that center around the arts. This year, VPA has participated in planning a Halloween dance, a Halloween party for the local kids, and the traditional Dickinson Day. VPA is currently working on an open mike night, an art gallery, and several other programs. If you are interested in becoming more involved with VPA, submit a Special Interest Housing application which is available from the Residential Life Office.
The Residential Life staff in Digman Hall is dedicated to providing a living-learning environment through a variety of programs and activities. Some of the events that have occurred in Digman Hall this year have been the annual pancake breakfast, sexual jeopardy, newly roomies, graduate school information session, acquaintance rape awareness program, spaghetti dinner, computer assistance, service auction, and ballroom dancing. Many of the floors partake in floor dinners, lots of midnight chats, and late night ice cream runs.
The staff is dedicated to making Digman Hall a great place to live. They are available to assist you in making your experience living on campus the most beneficial.Narrative provided by Janielle Ostrowski, Resident Director of Digman Hall.
